EPDM core inside an FEP jacket o-rings provide excellent resistance to oils, fuels, acids, alkalis and other industrial chemicals.

FEP Encapsulated EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) is a synthetic rubber material known for its exceptional resistance to high temperatures, oils, fuels, and a wide range of chemicals. FEP encapsulation combines the excellent sealing properties and durability of EPDM with the chemical inertness and high-temperature resistance of FEP (Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene). This unique combination offers superior sealing capabilities because the elastomer core assists with the slow recovery of the FEP jacket.

Key Benefits of FEP Encapsulated EPDM O-Rings:
Chemical Resistance
High Temperature Resistance
Excellent Flexibility and Resilience
Low Friction
Non-Toxic and FDA Compliant
Durability and Long Service Life
UV and Ozone Resistance
Chemical Resistance:
Excellent resistance to oils, fuels, and a variety of hydrocarbons.
Strong resistance to acids, alkalis, and many industrial chemicals.
Provides superior sealing performance in applications involving lubricants and automotive fluids.
Not Compatible With:
Molten alkali metals: Sodium, potassium, and lithium in their molten state can react with FEP.
Fluorine: Elemental fluorine and fluorine-based compounds like chlorine trifluoride are highly reactive and can attack FEP.
Strong oxidizing agents: While FEP is generally resistant to most oxidizing agents, extremely strong oxidizing agents like concentrated hydrogen peroxide (90%) can degrade it over time, especially at elevated temperatures.
Key Applications:
Chemical Processing
Pharmaceutical and Food Processing
Oil and Gas Industry
Automotive Industry
Semiconductor Manufacturing
Water and Wastewater Treatment
Marine Applications
